Does anyone else have an addiction to a legalized drug that they accidentally keep falling back into? That drug for me is caffeine. For those of you who don't know, I don't drink any type of coffee and I never have, but I used to drink the crap out of Pepsi and Coke. But in August of 2001, I decided that my addiction was too much. If I went two or three days without it, then I would start getting the shakes, a loss of patience and a really bad temper. So, it was time to stop, and I did...cold turkey.
Then came the game of what can I drink, what can I eat and how much of it is within my limits. Well, I found new drinks to consume. Ginger Ale, Sprite, and Sierra Mist became my new best friends. In fact, everyday for the past 7 months, I have had a 24 oz of Schweppes Caffeine Free Ginger Ale on my desk to drink. But that hasn't completely solved the problem. There is one substance on this planet that I can't resist, no matter how hard I try: Chocolate. Chocolate is now my Achilles Heel, and one that I don't think I can avoid...I just like it too much.

I am the complete opposite. I have had coffee virtually every day since I was probably 7 or 8 years old (will be 43 in March). Yes, bad parenting. :-) Actually, when I was young it was way "milked down", but still coffee.
ReplyDeleteAs for soda. Barely drink it at all. If it never passed my lips again, I would not miss it.
8 years without caffinated sodas is quite an accomplishment.
Sal, if I say the sky is blue, what do you say?
ReplyDeleteThe reason I ask this is because we seem to be exact opposite in almost every way...or is it just me?
Just happens. Both ike to game. Both like sports. I can lie if you want me to, but that's no good. :-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe we are like magnets, and will bounce off each other at the MnG.
