I know that I've asked you questions in the past, and I almost never get a response, but please if you see this, please let me know what you would like to see in a Geezer Radio Blog/Podcast site.

There is a LOT to consider when hosting media files like that. Bandwidth, storage, etc. all factor in. It gets expensive to host them and make it so that they can be quickly downloaded by all who want them. There might be some caching services that could hook you up for not too much money.
ReplyDeleteNot trying to discourage you, just don't sell the "someone else hosting" it solution short before you dig into what it would really take to do it yourself.
I know it bothers you Jedi, but I'm OK with the delay between recording & posting.
ReplyDeleteOnly other comment I have is that if you do do something on your own, I hope you won't go back to the geezer community asking for handouts. You will be crucified. :-P
No handouts will be asked for. I am spending (if Spark and I can't find something for free) my own money on this. That being said, I might not be donating to GG.com if that were the case. Let me tell you that I am willing to spend the money (to a point) to get it done right. But thanks for the warning.
ReplyDeleteAlso, let me saw that I REALLY appreciate what Mudhog has done for Geezer Radio, but there are think that I would like to do that I can't with a website that I have no control of. What if I want to put a new opening song in, I would have to give them credit on the site but I can't do that with Mud controlling everything. Both Spark and I agree that this way is better for us, but we in no way are unappreciative to Mud. Spark and I can't say thanks to him enough for what he's done.
